I love to write. And I think a lot. So why have I been absent from this platform? Because life happens. Family requires time. We've changed jobs multiple times. And health has been a challenge. So I've been silent.
I'm sitting in a hospital room in a Winter Garden, Florida. That's not good. Surgery is scheduled at 12:30. And I've been NPO since 12:01 AM. NPO. What is that? It's Latin for nil per os. Nothing by mouth. Nothing. So I'm hungry and thirsty, and there's nothing I can do about it. Yesterday, Annette went downstairs and snagged some sausage and an English muffin for me. Not today. A Dr. Pepper sounds really good. Nope. Not even a sip of water. So what shall I do? I'll write.
I'll write about aging and health.
I'll write about family and friends.
I'll probably write about our reconnection with the world of worship leadership.
And I think I'll write about some job things and transitions and the reasons behind some of that. I think. That's sensitive stuff and there's a fine line between sowing discord - something God hates according to Proverbs 6 - and Ephesians 5:11, that encourages us to shed light on what the Bible calls "deeds of darkness".
So stay tuned.
Let's see what comes out of a time of reflection in these days.

Doug and I are praying for your surgery today and praying for Annette as she waits. May your recovery be quick and complete. God bless you both.
ReplyDeleteJon you didn’t mention what the operation was for but maybe we don’t need to know I often think of all the night you would stop by my house on your way home with a Burger King hamburger and fries with a cold drink and we could talk about how we could work for God to make His kingdom larger bye getting more people to get in. We would have some really deep conversations and plans as you were our worship leader and also youth leader. Those were some good nights and I enjoyed them. I am praying for you and your family and for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeletePrayers lifted my friend!🥰🙏
